In 1954 Louis conceived of a new method of paint application: the spilling of wave upon wave of color onto untreated cotton duck to produce a play of fused and interpenetrated stains. Includes a 3-page introduction by Rosalind Krauss, the full-page plates, 2-page bibliography, and exhibitions.
