Albany Institute of History and Art, 1978. Softcover. White & illus. stapled wraps. 49 pp. 109 bw plates. VG. Item #6753
A detailed consideration of the life and artwork of Alice Morgan Wright. A lifelong resident of Albany, the sculptor had her first one-person show here in 1936. She studied extensively in Paris. She was a founder of the Society of Independent Artists. An exceptional catalogue on a seldom mentioned woman sculptor, who spent time in an English prison due to her radical activities in the name of suffrage. The catalogue cites 110 works, and most are pictured here. Uncommon.
