The Bulletin de l'Effort Moderne does not propose to tell its readers all the little stories that cannot be written in time, nor to draw them into the mysteries of a nebulous metaphysics, nor, above all, to engage in polemics about anyone or anything. It has set itself the sole task of showing curious minds and bringing to their attention the truly modern productions of the architects, painters, sculptors, engravers, and artisans of our time, of exposing the intentions of the latter, and finally, of informing its readers about all the things that seem to it to be the most worthy of interest in the great current artistic movement.
Not claiming infallibility, the Bulletin de l'Effort Moderne asks its readers to grant it, for its beginnings, along with all their sympathetic indulgence, their precious and very active collaboration with a view to its improvement and dissemination
Taking care not to imitate the conscious and unconscious enemies of Evolution, who, for reasons more or less avowable or beyond their control, attempt to assassinate the present for the greater glory of the past, the Bulletin of the Modern Effort, respectful of Tradition which alone allows us to continue and endure, intends to rally only to the single slogan: Thank you, the dead, long live the living!
