Raqib Shaw: Paradise Lost
New York: Pace, 2013. Mixed. An interesting looking book-- appears to be two separate books bound together. The 'top' book is a paperback catalogue with full-color illustrations depicting the artist in the studio. It is navy blue with the title debossed in gilt across the front. There is a navy dust jacket with the title in gilt down the spine. This book is attached securly to a glossy, pictorial hardcover below. The paper catalogue is about half the size of the hardback book. This leaves just under half of the front cover of the hardcover book exposed. The dust jacket covers the entirety of the back of the hardcover portion. When the dust jacket is taken off, the title is printed in white down a multi--colored spine. Within the hardback, the front and back free and pasted end pages are a rich orange paper. It also has a green and white headband. Pages: Softcover catalogue, (18); Hardcover, (4), 5-61, (1). Profusely illustrated with many full-color images. There is at least one fold-out page. VG+/VG+/VG: A book in excellent condition. Both have clean pages and sharp edges. Both have solid spines. They are also attached together securely. The dust jacket is neat and clean with a tiny tear at the bottom on the back cover. Item #202152
