"The ornaments whose reproductions are gathered in this work were chosen from the works of the different peoples of European and Asian Russia, presented at the pavilion of the U.R. S.S. at the international exhibition of decorative arts. They are executed by hand and consist mainly of embroidery made of multicolored pearls or pieces of glass, shells, animal teeth, metal pieces and medals, buttons, mosaics of dyed leathers or furs, leather straps, braids , loops or pompoms of wool. The clothing of peoples living in fishing is often made of possskin, generally carp, with applications of light colored patterns cut, sewn or glued.  In relatively temperate and summer countries, these clothes are made of canvas or wool; in colder countries they are made of fur and the hair is worn outside in summer, in winter inside. In very cold countries, first put on a garment with fur on the inside covered with another with fur on the outside."--WorldCat.
