The larger booklet is the Summer 1959 edition of the journal of The Museum of Primitive Art, giving an in-depth look at the works on view in the exhibition held May to September of that year, for which the second, smaller booklet is the catalogue, listing each work with a brief annotation. Introductory essay in the larger book is by Gordon F. Ekholm; identifications of the stones for the catalogue were made by Charles H. Behre.
