This publication is a beautifully illustrated catalog of the exhibition, which was held on November 12 - December 12, 1999 in the Pushkin Museum and January 26 - March 19, 2000 in the State Hermitage Museum. Presented in it were exquisite pieces of jewelry from the famous American collector Patty Cadby Birch. This exhibition was organized with the support of the Institute for the Arab World (France). On view were products of craftsmen working mainly in Northern Iran. Chronological boundaries of the exhibition were unusually extensive - from the X-IX centuries BC to the XIX century. An amazing variety of types of jewelry and techniques for processing gold, silver, precious and semiprecious stones.
