Extremely clear illustrations from detailed engravings of all parts of the human skeleton, starting with the entire body in three graceful poses and followed by 10 additional plates, each with several figures of smaller sections of skeletal parts, labeled. William Cheselden was a well-known English surgeon and teacher of anatomy. The book's former owner, Frederic Wood Jones, was a British naturalist, physical anthropologist, and anatomist and taught anatomy and physical anthropology at several universities and medical schools in Britain and Australia. Intended for medical students but could be used for art students/artists.
