Text is in French. Title on spines: Voyage de l'Ameriqu. Here French military officer Francois-Jean de Beauvoir, the Marquis de Chastellux (1734-1788) recounts his travels in North America, from Massachusetts to Virginia. Includes two fold-out maps of his routes and three fold-outs of BW illustrations. Please note that a pagination printing error makes volume 2 seem as though it contains 251 pages when it really has 351. The page numbers advance in it from 320 to 221, and the error continues for the rest of the volume. The marbling is exquisite. Includes a boxed set of the 1963 English translation published by Chapel Hill and prepared by Howard C. Rice, Jr.
