An index of artists appears at the back of Vols. I and II (in English). Vol. 4 is about a single painting, the centerpiece of the auction, by Russian painter, Boris Kustodiev. The Merchant's Wife is one of his best-known works, full of great significance and symbolism and painted in 1923 (after the first version), during a time of great upheaval in Russia. The painting and the history behind it are described here in great detail. All volumes have stunning clarity and vibrant color in the images.
