Russkiy kostyum, 1750-1917 : materialy dlya stsenicheskikh postanovok russkoy dramaturgii ot Fonvizina do Gor'kogo / Russian costume, 1750-1917: materials for stage productions of Russian drama, Fonvizin to Gorky (Volumes I, II, III, IV, V)

Moskva / Moscow: Vserossiiskoe teatral'noe obshchestvo / Russian Theatrical Society, 1960 - 1972. Hardcover. 5 volumes. Cream cloth with black Cyrillic lettering. Off-white dust jackets with color images and grey Cyrillic lettering. 170 (min.) to 223 (max.) pages. Many bw and a few color illustrations. In Russian. All interiors VG, clean and tight but with "Printed in the Soviet Union" stamped in purple ink on each title page and former owner's name on ffep of each volume. Page edges lightly age-tanned. Djs were covered with Plasti-kleer "protectors" (now removed) which left remnants of the black trim along top/bottom ends of the book covers. Covers also have mild edge tanning and the odd spot here or there but are sound and tight and with only minor corner bumps, if any. Djs wrinkled from being in too-small plastic covers and have a spot or two but otherwise are clean and tight. Volume 5, however, had to protective cover, and the dj is tanned, lightly soiled, has black from the neighboring Plasti-kleer cover on the top/bottom front ends and is missing the bottom half of the spine and back. In spite of these detailed conditions, the set is very nice and looks better than it sounds, especially inside. The whole set is much-improved without the plastic covers. Item #134410
