One set of the original yellow wraps (from when this was originally issued in parts) bound in at rear. VG or better internally. Heavy offsetting to tissue guards, no foxing to the plates. Item #111373

A wonderful, clean, tight unmarked set. All called for engravings and title sheets are present, but not bound in according to the directions provided for the binder at the rear of volume 2. They appear to be bound in order of issuance (with the individual parts). Index at rear of each volume. A real treasure trove of clean, crisp and fresh images. The copyright date is 1854, the reviews on the back of the bound-in outer wraps is November 1855, and the date on the title page is 1857 for both volumes. A very impressive set in a utilitarian binding. The book measure 10" wide and 11.75" tall.
