Text in German. Volume 2 only of a 2-volume set featuring Slovakian folk art. The first volume centered on architecture, costumes, and embroideries. This volume covers ceramics, carvings/sculpture, and paintings. Each item is pictured with its title/suject, locality, and approximate year made. A list of illustrations in back provides further information about each piece. The ceramics are mostly functional vessels and figurines; the carvings and sculptures include many religious themes; and the paintings show both religious and royal images. Very whimsical and colorful, also giving an idea of bits of daily life/society in Slovakia of that Era.
