The State Museum of Palekh Art possesses a rich collection of Old Russian paintings and sculptures, iconographic drawings, early printed books, and objects of applied arts (precious frameworks, copper art castings, spinning-wheels, fabrics, etc). Traditional Palekh style of Russian folk painting is done with tempera paints on small items. Palekh is a town about 350 km east of Moscow.
