Text in French and English. Catalogue from the gallery show of 1968. The 8 bronzes were executed in wax in Verona, and Magritte signed off on the waxes, from which molds and the eventual bronzes were made. Magritte never saw the actual bronze sculptures, as he died before they were completed. He died in August 1967, and the first two bronzes came out of the foundry in November. The sculptures included are: La Joconde, Madame Recamier, La Folie des Grandeurs, Le Puits de Verite, Le Therapeute, Les Graces Naturelles, La Race Blanche, and Les Travaux d'Alexandre. Each work is pictured in both study-drawings and the final piece.

Price: $50.00
