A landmark exhibition. Many of the pictures exhibited had not been seen publicly for many years. Lists works by 21 artists, and includes a bibliography for almost every artist. Artists included in this exhibition were Benson, Cassatt, Thomas W. Dewing, Frieseke, Glackens, Hartley, Hassam, George Inness, Ernest Lawson, Metcalf, Leonard Ochtman, Pennell, Maurice Prendergast, Henry Ward Ranger, Edward Redfield, Theodore Robinson, Sargent, Paul Sawyier, Robert Spencer, Tryon, Twachtman, J. Alden Weir and Whistler. Also included in this exhibition were photographs by Coburn, Kasebier, Steichen, Stieglitz, Weston and White. Works that did not come from public collections were lent by galleries.
