Catalogue lists 203 works by this Russian master. There are 39 line engravings of works in the exhibition, and there are lengthy annotations for the first 100 pictures or so. A short introduction by the artist discusses his observations on war and executions, and explains his artwork, which focuses on these subjects. Quite uncommon. This exhibition was also shown in Chicago. Also included is an envelope of correspondence from Otto Bernet of American Art Galleries to a Mr. George Claussen of Brooklyn, New York, from 1935. It includes notes about two works, "Ruins of a Samaritan Temple at Schechem" and "Sunrise in the Himalayas," taken from a catalogue of the Vassili Verestchagin Collection.
