Partridge was a friend of both Rodin and Bouguereau, having been born in Paris. Preface states that the book is meant to offer a practical, as well as theoretical knowledge of sculpture. The first 46 pages detail the History of Sculpture, including a respectable section on the Americans. The next 54 pages detail practice, and contain the illustrations. Following this, there are several appendices, and two pages of advertisements. Rare.
