New York: American Art Association, Inc., 1925. Softbound. Tan paper stapled wraps, unpaginated, 225 lots listed, 63 lots illustrated in bw. VG- (Some slight aging soiling, some thinning to the paper of the covers, cover has separated from top staple; interior is clean but with prices written in red pencil.). Item #36681

Issued in conjunction with a 1925 exhibition and sale. "This collection presents a very unusual offering to the public, both in individual examples and in the heterogenous character of the ensemble. It comprises purchases made by several men in China, in Korea, in Persia and India, in Spain and elsewhere. Attractive in construction and in their novelty are the old Korean brass candlesticks of unfamiliar pattern, some modernized and equipped for electricity for use as lamps in present Occidental houses. Fabrics of interesting designs are included, both ancient and modern. Bronzes of ancient days, long buried, of most unfamiliar invention and presenting monsters and other figures differing from the crude animalistic conventions that frequent repetition has made known to us are here to be found." (foreword) A wonderful and important selection of 225 lots, with 63 items illustrated.
