An astounding effort by this commission, whose members included George McAneny, Honorable Robert N. McGarvey, Honorable Hugh Martin Morris, Honorable Francis J. Myers, Dr. Carl Van Doren, Mr. Albert M. Greenfield and Honorable Edwin O. Lewis. This report detailed the immediate needs of the Independence Hall neighborhood in terms of Preservation and Restoration. It is hard to imagine that such a report was needed. This book contains an amazing amount of background and historical research, and is fascinating reading as well as historically significant.
