Plates will have instances of light marks, smudges, some foxing. Plates edges and corners tanned and brittle; various chips, tears and remnants. Majority of plates with all have chipping, tears and creases to lower corner. Plates will have slight curling to to edges. An interesting and peculiar edition: WorldCat lists a similiar edition containing two "boxes" of portraits for a combined 80 plates (OCLC 45106248). There is also mention of a 'Twenty-Five Musical Portraits Selected From The Collection of Gustav Kobbe' in Kobbe's literary journal The Lotus. No matter, a rare artifact and item for the Kobbe collector.
