Issued in conjunction with a 1981-1982 exhibition that considered the life and work of American photographer Paul Outerbridge (1896-1958). With an introductory illustrated essay by Bernard Barryte, Graham Howe, and Elaine Dines. Divides his work into sections: platinum and silver bromide prints from 1921-1932, drawings from 1934, carbo-color prints from 1935-1939, and supplementary photographs from 1921-1941. The six appendices include "The Carbro Process," by Outerbridge, as well as a chronology, selected bibliography, and exhibitions and collections histories. Highly illustrated.
