These letters first appeared during the winter and spring of 1903-1904 in the scientific supplement of the Münchener Allgemeine Zeitung, in German. Translated into English by H.W. Morse and with several additions to the 1904 German edition. In 17 separate letters/chapters. The bookplate is of Daniel Willard with the motto, "Gaudet Patientia Duris," historically the Willard family motto.
