"The Artists of the Yellow Book and the Circle of Oscar Wilde is a joint exhibition simultaneously held by the Parkin Gallery, 11 Motcomb Street, London SW I, and the Clarendon Gallery, 8 Virgo Street, London W I. Many of the artists of this period have been exhibited by the Parkin Gallery in a series of memorable exhibitions in the last few years. Much of the impact of these exhibitions derived from the fact that they were held on the original premises. With his 'Boulestin' and 'Cafe Royal' exhibitions, Michael Parkin set a precendent which we have attempted to follow: to evoke the atmosphere of a particular coterie through its works of art; and to recreate that atmosphere as far as possible in its original setting." - from introduction.
