Boston: Geo. W. Light, 1834. First Edition. Hardcover. Blue textured paper boards with printed paper label on frotn cover, plain spine. Lithographed frontis portrait of Wheatley (marked Pendleton's Lithog"y Boston) with yellow tissue guard. 36 pp. VG, frontis is tenderly attached, offsetting of final printed page onto rear free endpaper. Cover corners are sharp and crisp, label exhibits some wear and whole cover demonstrates the faint 1/4 oval indentation of something having been placed upon the book. Overall a very nice copy of a book usually found tattered and missing parts. All original. Item #173852

First edition of a very scarce book Published the same year that George W. Light issued the 1834 edition of Memoir and Poems of Phillis Wheatley, edited by Margaret Matilda Odell, a descendant of Wheatley's. Light was a clever businessman, and recognized a good thing.
