Extraordinary difficulties and extremely high expenses were incurred in order to bring copies to America. In spite of the greatest efforts and sacrifices, more than half of the edition has been lost. Because of these circumstances and the small number of copies which eventually reached this country, it has been necessary to establish a price of $3.50 for this issue."
