London: Cassell and Company Ltd., 1956-1958. First. Leather bound. Uniformly bound in 3/4 dark blue leather with finely woven light-blue cloth covers (spines have turned greeenish from light exposure). 5-raised bands, gilt tooling to bands and compartments, gilt titles and date at base of spines. Top edges are gilt. Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. A very attractive set, Volume 1 is 1/8" shorter than volumes 2-4, as printed. With occassional maps and illustrations. VG+ with the lightest of wear, one cover corner shows the lightest wear-through. Item #172320
