The sheets measures 27" x 20.25" and the first fascicule has 24 color lithographed plates, two sets of text (one French, one Russian) and the two folding maps. The wrapping paper for this fascicule has the name H.F. Bowker blindstamped into in at two locations. The second fascicule contains 19 plates only, including 11 color and 8 in two-tone. All plates are numbered in a corner in Roman numerals. An extraordinarily rare set The French set of text is xxii (4) pp. while the Russian text is xxii (2) pp.and the text sheets are two different sizes for each language, with the smaller sheets making up the early pages and the larger sheets making up the final pages. The larger sheets measure 20" x 13.5" Shipping weight will be 25 pounds in a custom container, as this is an extremely large publication. A pioneering works on Central Asian carpets.
