This copy quite notable as it is inscribed and presented to Horace Traubel (Wlat Whitman's literary executor, amongst a slew of other noteworthy features) by William F. Gable, a leading citizen and benefactor of Altoona, PA and very successful business owner, who was a literary aficionado. Laid-in at the front of this copy are various pieces of promotional literature for the book, including the stated limitation of this edition to 500 copies. A very nice copy.
