Lengthy letter of introduction for a Dr. Seward, addressed to a Dr. Gurley in Washington City, signed by Robert Baird is laid into this copy. It is dated Yonkers, NY Feb. 24 /63. Less than three weeks later, he would be dead. From the library of Rev. A. A. E. Taylor, former President of Wooster University, who presented the book to the Wooster University Library in 1875. His survey of educational deficiencies while ministering to destitute believers in New Jersey is the late 1820s eventually led to the introduction of a system of public education in New Jersey.
