Top edges gilt. G+. General shelf and edge wear on covers, especially rubbed in corners and top of spine. Spine lightly shaken. Minor soiling on first few blank pages. Mild foxing throughout, mostly only on plates and their facing pages or paper overlays. Overall a good copy. Item #167321
The author (Bacher) was a friend of Whistler's during his time in Venice and well-disposed to write on the subject, of which little is otherwise known. A really interesting story and compilation of Whistler's life in his travels.
