Evans 29928. Frontispiece by Tanner, engraved plates and double-page map. Ownership label of Samuel Provoost, D.D. on front cover, as well as his bookplate inside front cover (engraved by Maverick, aka Peter Rushton Maverick). As per Wiki, Provoost was the first Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, as well as the third (possibly the second) Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, USA. He was consecrated as bishop of New York in 1787 with Bishop William White. He was elected the first Chaplain of The Senate in1789, a post he retained until the Senate moved to Philadelphia in 1780.
