York, PA: Hiram Young, 1868-70. Hardcover. 3/4 cream fabric with paper covered boards. Black spine lettering. "Weekly Democrat June 1868-May 1870" Each issue 4 pp./2 sheets. G. Boards are fully attached. Cloth spine shows significant staining. Top and bottom of boards are damaged, with top showing damp warping and tears. Chunk out of front board. Tops of most issues show some dampstaining, which does not interfere with reading. Some issues have soft center and corner creases. Issues at end of volume have some significant creasing. Likewwise, issues at front and back show the most chipping and edge wear. Paper varies in roughness throughout volume. Item #165690

Includes two copies of Vol. 5 No 18; Vol 5 No. 21 has offset bleedthrough making reading difficult; Vol 5 No. 42 missing chunk of paper; Vol 5, Nos. 44-48 are quite tanned; Vol 6 missing No. 3 and 4; Vol 6 No. 24 missing second page; Vol 6 No. 44-50 show significant wrinkling and creasing; Vol 6 No. "50" re-used for next issue and issue after that is Vol 6 No. 52.
