Each ivory stapled wraps, paginated consecutively over all volumes, from page 30 to 812 (although not all pages are present, as not all volumes printed within that time are present); approx. 15 pp. each on average. Several bw illustrations and the usual contemporary advertisements. Housed together in a plastic sleeve. Good. All are age-toned and becoming a bit brittle. Slightly dusty. Some covers have foxing at spine area; occasional foxing to other areas. Mostly unmarked but with a few pencil notations in margins (not all the same handwriting). No major, glaring defects. The issues included are: July 1894 through April 1895; June 1895; September 1895 through August 1896; and March 1897. Knaufft was director of the Chautauqua Society of Fine Arts, the author of Drawing for Printers, and the editor of The Art Student. NOTE: This lot of books alternately has two titles: The Art Student : A Monthly for the Home Study of Drawing and Illustrating (through March 1895); and The Art Student : An Illustrated Monthly for Home Study of Drawing and Illustrating (subsequent issues).
