1776 was quite a year, wasn't it? So much so, that this Annual Register had to be reprinted several times to meet demand. Covered here, from the British point of view, are a History of Europe; a Chronicle of births, deaths, and marriages, with appendix; State Papers, Characters, Natural History, Projects, Antiquities, Miscellaneous Essays, Poetry, and reviews of three books: "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire," by Edward Gibbon; "An Enquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations," by Adam Smith; and "The History of the Reign of Philip the Second, King of Spain," bu Robert Watson. Get your eyes used to interpreting the long s in order to read this text. Please note that this is an original book, and not a paperback reprint, e-book, or print-on-demand title. As such, it is rare.
