Catalogue from the exhibit held at Noah Goldowsky Gallery in Manhattan, May 10 to June 7, 1969 showing the evolution of Dada. Includes an introduction by Dadiast/Surrealist expert, Timothy Baum, and a foreword by Richard Huelsenbeck, the German doctor-Dadaist who lived and practiced in New York until, apparently, just before this exhibition was mounted. An excerpt from The Frick Collection web site reads, "In 1969 he retired from practice and returned to Switzerland. [In] His 1969 essay "On leaving America for Good," Huelsenbeck does not really mount a convincing case for this return to Switzerland: in America 'as a doctor I was a success and as a Dadaist (the thing closest to my heart) I was a failure.' " The catalogue lists 54 works, each described, by Steichen, Ernst, Duchamp, Man Ray, Janco, Picabia, Hoch, Grosz, Huelsenbeck, Tzara, Arp, Schwitters, and others, along with several publications with entries by multiple artists, writers, photographers, etc. This is a scarce catalogue.
