Catalogue from the exhibition held at Namiki Building WAKO in Tokyo. The original catalogue, in Italian, was from the exhibition held at Castello Sforzesco in Milan. The theme is animals pictured in lace; specifically the images of the ancient lace belonging to the Caprai Museum Collection. This is a study of the presence both in needle and in bobbin laces, in filet and in white work embroideries of real, imaginary or mythological animals, of birds and insects, to try to find logical, symbolic, historical, and magical explanations. 100 pieces are shown. An exciting journey to discover why the animals are pictured in the lace. Text in English.
