The complete two-volume set providing an annotated and illustrated catalogue of 122 pieces (volume I) and an accompanying narrative of technical studies and x-rays (volume II) of these bronzes found in the Freer Gallery of Art, part of the Smithsonian's Museums of Asian Art. Once belonging to the larger group of Asian art collected by American industrialist and art collector Charles Lang Freer (1854-1919), and given to the Smithsonian in 1906. Initial plans for a third volume of "Epigraphic Studies" were later dropped, making this set complete. Much to see and consider here.
