Brown (perhaps age-toned) cloth spine with gilt lettering and decoration. Hand-colored/illustrated title page. 72 leaves, including 36 bw plates, all hand-colored to some degree and with tissue guards. AEG. Spine missing, but all other parts present, but covers detached, and content is separated into 3 parts. Text free of extraneous marks but with some age toning to edges. Plates clean but with age toning, and some with light damp staining, to margins (nothing affecting plates). Item #158852
36 beautiful plates of all sorts of wildlife, of which 36 are British game birds. With a page of annotations for each (by Charles Armiger) facing the tissue-guarded plate. This book is a candidate for either rebinding or for having the plates framed with the descriptions mounted on the back.
