It shows quilts that were made in the region in the 1980's, not "historical quilts" (but they might now be considered historical). The area represented ranges from New York to Mississippi, and includes parts of Pennsylvania, and southern Ohio. Not only were specific states represented, but also nationalities, Scots-Irish, German, Afro-American, along with Hmong refugees from Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand, as well as people in the 1960's and 1970's from eastern cities who were seeking a return to the earth lifestyle.
