Once based primarily on the compilations created by Austrian scholar and artist Johann Adam Bernhard Ritter von Bartsch (1757-1821) in his 21-volume "Le Peintre Graveur." This volume addresses the work of German printmakers Johann Ladenspelder, Pieter Huys, Cornelis Massys, Hans Guldenmund, Stefan Hamer, Augustin Hirschvogel, and Hanns Lautensack. Scarce.
