New York: New School for Social Research, 1942. Pamphlet. Single sheet folded into 8 panels (16 total, both sides). 8 bw illustrations. VG- with just a hint of shelf wear. Item #155336

A brochure from the main catalogue of classes for the 1942-43 season, featuring the following teachers: Camilo Egas, the Director (drawing, oil paintin, mural painting, and fresco); Yasuo Kuniyoshi (oil painting, drawing and composition); Jose de Creeft (sculpture); Alexey Brodovitch (applied art to graphic journalism, war propaganda advertising); Stuart Davis (modern color-space composition in drawing and painting); Berenice Abbot (workshops in photography); and Stanley William Hayter (etching and engraving; listed as "Atelier 17). Each artist's course section provides a bit of description about the courses, biographical information about the artist-teacher, and the schedule of classes/workshops. Quite the big names, with a bw illus. by each artist! Scarce.
