"Susan's Teeth" refers to scrimshawed whale's teeth decorated by men of the Susan, a whaling ship based in Nantucket, which operated from 1826-1853. The text includes articles by additional authors: "Scrimshaw" by Frank Wood; "Scrimshaw: the Perfect Hobby" by Arthur C. Watson; and "All Hands Aboard Scrimshawing" by Marius Barbeau.
