Volume III in the series, Contributions from the Museum of the American Indian Heye Foundation. Includes historical background of material culture, manners and customs, tribes and languages, religion, etc. Part II (The Pacific Area) covers general considerations of the archeology; geological man; and various types of pottery (polychrome ware, including with painted decoration; under-slip incised ware; luna ware; intermediate wares; monochrome ware, and misc). Part III covers the same types of wares for the Highland Region, with the addition of applique ware and simple painted ware. Part IV contains the summary and conclusions, followed by 5 appendices. Each volume has a list of plates for that volume. The text is extensively thorough, and the illustrations plentiful. Excellent color plates. Despite the condition, neither volume appears to have been read much (pages so clean and many uncut).

Price: $125.00
