Issued in conjunction with several 2001 exhibitions of furniture and decorative arts pieces created by California-based craftsman Garry Knox Bennett (b. 1934). With illustrated and thematic essays by Arthur C. Danto, Edward S. Cooke, Jr., and Ursula Ilse-Neuman. Includes chronology, exhibitions history, selected bibliography, and hundreds of views of his work. "One of the first furniture makers to integrate ColorCore and other man-made products into his designs, Bennett creates bold compositions of color and shape using unexpected combinations of hardwoods, copper, brass, aluminum and paint. He often adds gold and silver plating and oxides onto the metals he uses to achieve additional color and interest." (dj) Intriguing work, and beautiful for browsing.
