ISBN: 0952834405

An in-depth study of the cultural landscape of the county of Pembrokeshire, Wales. "Some five hundred houses are described in fascinating detail, as well as over a thousand families who lived there in past centuries up to the present time. The book is well illustrated with paintings, architectural drawings, and delightful vignettes." (dj) Arranged in dictionary style, in alpha order by house or castle name. The research was done by Major Francis Jones, who unfortunately did not live to see the finished product. Edited by Robert Innes-Smith, with artistic direction and compilation by Hugh Charles-Jones and Caroline Charles-Jones, the author's son and daughter-in-law. A terrific resource for both historians and genealogists, and one that is uncommon.
