Modern Wallpaper

New York: Katzenbach and Warren, Inc., [1949?]. Softcover. Spiral-bound. Gray and decorated paper covers, [56 pp.], duotone illus., one blue and red sample wallpaper strip. VG. Item #149676

Issued in conjunction with a series of 1949-1950 exhibitions. "The purpose of this exhibition is to show an integration of the arts and crafts; to weld them into an aesthetic entity; to establish an harmonious working allliance between a Picasso and the wall on which it is hung; to show that the textural beauty of a piece of sculpture can be complimented by a subtle background paper instead of the usual flat wall paint or velvet hanging of Grandmama's day." The catalogue describes 8 rooms and includes a duotone view of one of the wallpapers employed in each. A real sample is included near the back of the book.
