Text is in French. This two-volume set details the first five years of this 19th-century organization of engravers. Volume I provides a year-by-year look at the group's activities, including its annual Salon. Included here are dozens of illustrations of engravings and exhibited works. Volume II is an alphabetical dictionary of society members, from Tancrede Abraham to Bronislas Zaleski. Some bios run much longer than others, especially for the Europeans. (American James MacNeil [sic] Whistler, a member in 1865, ranks only two lines.) An every-name index concludes the book. This set is #395 of 500 copies.
