Text in French. Catalogue from the exhibition of April 1888 of new works by famous Russian war artist, Vasilii Vereshchagin. With a preface and thorough annotations of the 74 works on view, several pictured in bw. There is a page at the back listed as "Objets Divers" (Various Objects), under glass - presumably in a glass display case - described as "part of my artistic background (collection ?) with which to study the folk art of different everyday objects," and there are 12 items listed (embroideries, crosses, rosaries, tiles, tryptichs, etc.) from various countries. A scarce catalogue.
