Text in Norwegian. First published in 1908. A delightful book dyeing with plants. Gives information about chemical dyes, chemical components of plant dyes, and about plants both foreign and native to Norway. With separate sections on different color families, including recipes, images of different plants, and all sorts of wonderful information. (NOTE: The title on the cover is "Laerebok i FARVNING", not "FARVING", as is on the title page. In addition, the publisher is listed as Cappelens, but the subtitle translates as, "published by the Norwegian Husflidsforening."). The dyes herein apparently were used as natural dyes primarily for textiles. Uncommon.
